Cartridge Casing Notes... *

All of the casings are recovered from spent (fired) cartridges at a target range.

Each one is cleaned and polished with a liquid brass cleaner and then coated with a shellac-based polish or wax.

There may be some residual gunpowder residue inside the cartridge, but various glues and epoxies
have been applied to attach the hooks, valve stem covers or other materials, thus sealing such chemicals safely inside.

Any tarnish or other discoloration can be removed by buffing with brass cleaner.

Depending on usage, periodic cleaning may be needed.

If any parts separate during normal usage, a dab of clear epoxy, E-6000 glue or equivalent should effect repair.
