2011-11-20, Westboro Church visits Cupertino, CA...... From my ex-neighbor, Tina... The Westboro Baptist Church came to Cupertino today to protest at Apple where they are holding a celebration of Steve Jobs' life. This is the infamous small family group led by "Reverend" Fred Phelps who go around the country spouting hate-filled rhetoric about gays, soldiers and America. Before their protest at Apple, they chose my kids' high school to warm up at. I think they chose it just because it is close to Apple and has the name Cupertino in it. Luckily, all went smoothly - students were inside their school holding a rally while most of the counter protesters and onlookers were alumni, neighbors and others who came from the outside. It was peaceful and after about 20 minutes the WBC folks were escorted away by police. Here are some pictures that I took - ironically, the WBP protesters were using iPhones to take pictures of themselves! That was my favorite: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.2469535707877.141240.1536874828&type=1&l=05da67ccaa Who said Suburban life was dull?

2011-09-07, NC State House of Representatives, Speaker Pro Tem Dale Folwell
But everything changed during the second, pro-amendment presser. As NC Policy Watch's Rob Schofield put it, "At that event, the Number Three Republican in the State House of Representatives, Speaker Pro Tem Dale Folwell, appeared with a troop of ultra-conservative ministers who proceeded to treat those in attendance (as well as those listening via the Internet) to a spirited lecture about Christianity, the Bible, and, perhaps most tellingly, sex."
According to at least one of the speakers called to the podium by Rep. Folwell, an anti-LGBT marriage amendment is necessary in North Carolina because what LGBT people do in the bedroom violates biological rules. Schofield explains, "According to a Rev. Johnny Hunter, sexual acts between two people of the same gender are 'immoral and unnatural.' Hunter explained that only heterosexual acts allow a marriage to be properly 'consummated.' At one point, Hunter held up two locks (apparently as a symbol for two women) and banged them together to show that they were not designed for each other. He said the same would be the case for two keys -- apparently in reference to two men."

2011-05-18, Screw Jane Fonda and the horse she rode in on... Never Forget!
Barbara Walters comments on Jane Fonda
She can lead her present life the way she wants and perhaps SHE can forget the past, but we DO NOT have to stand by without comment to see that she is "honored" as a "Woman of the Century".
( I remember this well)
Never Forgive A Traitor
For those of you too young to remember Hanoi Jane is a bad person and did some terrible things during the Vietnam war. Things that cannot be forgiven!!!!
For those who served and/or died. . .
NEVER FORGIVE A TRAITOR. SHE REALLY WAS A TRAITOR!!
and now OBAMA wants to honor her......!!!!
In Memory of LT. C. Thomsen Wieland who spent 100 days at the Hanoi Hilton
IF YOU NEVER FORWARDED ANYTHING IN YOUR LIFE FORWARD THIS SO THAT EVERYONE WILL KNOW!!!!!!
She really is a traitor.
A TRAITOR IS ABOUT TO BE HONORED. KEEP THIS MOVING ACROSS AMERICA
This is for all the kids born in the 70's and after who do not remember, and didn't have to bear the burden that our fathers, mothers and older brothers and sisters had to bear.
Jane Fonda is being honored as one of the '100 Women of the Century.'
BARBRA WALTERS WRITES:
Unfortunately, many have forgotten and still countless others have never known how Ms. Fonda betrayed not only the idea of our country, but specific men who served and sacrificed during Vietnam
The first part of this is from an F-4E pilot. The pilot's name is Jerry Driscoll, a River Rat.
In 1968, the former Commandant of the USAF Survival School was a POW in Ho Lo Prison the ' Hanoi Hilton.'
Dragged from a stinking cesspit of a cell, cleaned, fed, and dressed in clean PJ's, he was ordered to describe for a visiting American 'Peace Activist' the 'lenient and humane treatment' he'd received.
He spat at Ms. Fonda, was clubbed, and was dragged away. During the subsequent beating, he fell forward on to the camp Commandant 's feet, which sent that officer berserk.
In 1978, the Air Force Colonel still suffered from double vision (which permanently ended his flying career) from the Commandant's frenzied application of a wooden baton.
From 1963-65, Col. Larry Carrigan was in the 47FW/DO (F-4E's). He spent 6 years in the ' Hanoi Hilton',,, the first three of which his family only knew he was 'missing in action'. His wife lived on faith that he was still alive. His group, too, got the cleaned-up, fed and clothed routine in preparation for a 'peace delegation' visit.
They, however, had time and devised a plan to get word to the world that they were alive and still survived. Each man secreted a tiny piece of paper, with his Social Security Number on it, in the palm of his hand.
When paraded before Ms. Fonda and a cameraman, she walked the line, shaking each man's hand and asking little encouraging snippets like: 'Aren't you sorry you bombed babies?' and 'Are you grateful for the humane treatment from your benevolent captors?' Believing this HAD to be an act, they each palmed her their sliver of paper.
She took them all without missing a beat.. At the end of the line and once the camera stopped rolling, to the shocked disbelief of the POWs, she turned to the officer in charge and handed him all the little pieces of paper..
Three men died from the subsequent beatings. Colonel Carrigan was almost number four but he survived, which is the only reason we know of her actions that day.
I was a civilian economic development advisor in Vietnam , and was captured by the North Vietnamese communists in South Vietnam in 1968, and held prisoner for over 5 years.
I spent 27 months in solitary confinement; one year in a cage in Cambodia; and one year in a 'black box' in Hanoi . My North Vietnamese captors deliberately poisoned and murdered a female missionary, a nurse in a leprosarium in Banme Thuot , South Vietnam , whom I buried in the jungle near the Cambodian border. At one time, I weighed only about 90 lbs. (My normal weight is 170 lbs)
We were Jane Fonda's 'war criminals....'
When Jane Fonda was in Hanoi , I was asked by the camp communist political officer if I would be willing to meet with her..
I said yes, for I wanted to tell her about the real treatment we POWs received... and how different it was from the treatment purported by the North Vietnamese, and parroted by her as 'humane and lenient.'
Because of this, I spent three days on a rocky floor on my knees, with my arms outstretched with a large steel weight placed on my hands, and beaten with a bamboo cane.
I had the opportunity to meet with Jane Fonda soon after I was released. I asked her if she would be willing to debate me on TV. She never did answer me.
These first-hand experiences do not exemplify someone who should be honored as part of '100 Years of Great Women.' Lest we forget....' 100 Years of Great Women' should never include a traitor whose hands are covered with the blood of so many patriots.
There are few things I have strong visceral reactions to, but Hanoi Jane's participation in blatant treason, is one of them. Please take the time to forward to as many people as you possibly can.. It will eventually end up on her computer and she needs to know that we will never forget.

May 8, 2011, SEIU drops mask, goes full commie...
A May Day rally in Los Angeles, co-sponsored by the SEIU and various communist groups, as well as other unions, reflected yet another step in the normalization of self-identified communist and socialist ideologies in the Obama era. Not only did the SEIU help to organize the rally in conjunction with communists, they marched side-by-side with communists, while union members carried communist flags, communists carried union signs, and altogether there was no real way to tell the two apart.
Barack Obama [January 15, 2008]:“Everybody: There's not a presidential candidate, a gubernatorial candidate, a congressional candidate, who won't tell ya, that they're pro-union, when they're looking for their endorsements. They'll all say, ‘Oh we love SEIU.’ But the question you gotta ask yourself is, do they have it in their gut, do they have a track record of standing alongside you on picket lines? Do they have a track record of going after the companies that aren't letting you organize? Do they have a track record of voting the right way? But also helping you organize to build more and more power?
And some of you know I come from an organizing background, so — I've been working with the SEIU before I was elected to anything. When I was a community organizer, SEIU Local 880 and myself we organized people, to make sure that health care workers had basic rights; we organized voter registration drives, that's how we built political power on the South Side of Chicago….and now the time has come for us to do it all across this country, and then we'll paint the nation purple, with SEIU!
I would not be a United States Senator had it not been for the support of your brothers and sisters in Illinois. Those folks, they supported me early, they supported me often. I've got my purple windbreaker from my campaign in 2004.
And so, we've just got, what, four more days? Four more days of knocking on some doors. Four more days of working the precinct. Four more days of making sure all your co-workers are caucusing.
SEIU, I am glad you are with me, let's together change the country! SEIU! SEIU! SEIU! SEIU! SEIU!”
Jan 19, 2011, NC State Representative Thom Tillis, Legislative Building, Room 1002, 16 West Jones Street, Raleigh, NC 27601
Dear Speaker-Elect Representative Tillis,
I was concerned to learn of your statements at the recent prayer breakfast that you would work to restrict access to reproductive health care for North Carolina's women. It is especially surprising that when our state is facing a $3.7 billion deficit, you would say that "there is nothing more important" than NC Right to Life's efforts to deny women safe, legal medical care.
As a concerned North Carolinian, I am deeply disappointed in your plan to center any of your legislative agenda on social issues, instead of fixing the budget and creating jobs. That is not what you ran on and it is not why you were elected to office.
Aside from the fact that I find any attempt to strip reproductive health decisions from individuals deplorable, I find your new social agenda to be shocking, because the day after the election you were quoted as saying, "We're a centrist state. We're a small government; we're a limited-government, free-market, stay-out of my-personal-life electorate." Increasing restrictions to health care and interference with the doctor-patient relationships is the ultimate in big government. For that matter, I think reproductive health decisions qualify as a part of one's "personal life" and I would like you to "stay out" of mine.
Of course, it's also been my experience that today's "conservatives" are happy to keep out of my wallet but unhappy if they can't control what happens in my bedroom.
What the heck... can you explain how you came to the conclusions and positions you're backing? I would bet money that there was a parent or theologian involved who quoted some scripture to you to convince you to take that path.
To me, that smacks of a lack of "separation of Church and State" because the decisions and judgments are based on religious/MORAL grounds and not legal or scientific grounds.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, because I'd love to be surprised!
Who gave you the right to make decisions about decisions about reproduction of ANY sort?
Again, I urge you to focus this legislative session on the pressing issues of the economy and the education of our children as you promised, and leave reproductive health decisions to the individuals for whom you serve.
Sincerely,
Clint McCance -- the Midlands School Board Vice President from Pleasant Plains, Arkansas, 10.30.2010

New York gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino, 10.14.2010
Last week, nine men kidnapped and tortured two teenagers and a 30-year-old man in the Bronx and subjected them to hours of horrific torture because they were gay. Just days later, New York gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino gave a speech saying he didn't want children "brainwashed into thinking that homosexuality is an equally valid or successful option."
Tell Mormon leader Boyd K. Packer that his anti-gay sermon has risked further alienating vulnerable LGBT youth - with potentially devastating consequences. -- 10.05.2010
Many of us are familiar with the struggle that so many lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender teens face. Anti-LGBT bullying in schools is out of control and has led to a number of recent teen suicides.
Yet a top Mormon Church apostle has chosen this precise moment to broadcast a message of intolerance to millions.
Boyd K. Packer, the second-highest Mormon leader, said same-sex attraction is "impure and unnatural" and can be overcome, and that same-sex unions are morally wrong and "against God's law and nature."
The recent suicides of several gay teenagers have made national headlines. Yet this is the moment – of all moments – that a top Mormon leader decides to broadcast a verbal rampage against gays to millions of viewers.
Do we need more proof than the suicides of teens as young as 13 that words like these can do unimaginable damage?
We cannot stay silent. By speaking out together, we can show the Mormon Church hierarchy that it has literally risked the lives of children by inciting their tormentors. And we can ensure that the young people who heard this sermon know that it is scientifically wrong and profoundly misguided.
Add your name to our open letter debunking Boyd Packer's lies.
Speaking before 20,000 people and broadcasting to millions more, Packer said same-sex unions are morally wrong and "against God's law and nature" – and that the church hierarchy would continue to support marriage bans like Proposition 8 (which was funded largely by Mormons).
It makes me physically sick to think how many young lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender kids had to sit in those pews and listen to that venom.
Comments like these are exactly what makes young LGBT kids think there's no way out but suicide – that their parents will reject them, that their communities will shun them, and that living openly will bring pain or violence – that even God looks on their very identity as a sin to be "overcome."
The so-called National Organization for Marriage, -- 10.01.2010
And I am extremely sorry to have to add the name of Orson Scott Card to this list, too.
While, for a decade or more, I've loved his science-fiction writing, beginning with Ender's Game, which I still believe would make a wonderful big-screen movie, the following comments make it necessary for me to add his name here, too.
According to the chairman emeritus of NOM's board, Robert George, the Mormon Church is represented by Orson Scott Card, who is an author and columnist with the Mormon Times.
Card, according to People for the American Way, has advocated for the criminalization of homosexuality.
He also wrote, "Regardless of law, marriage has only one definition, and any government that attempts to change it is my mortal enemy. I will act to destroy that government and bring it down, so it can be replaced with a government that will respect and support marriage…"
Described by the Mormon Times as the author of "best-selling science fiction novels, contemporary fantasy, biblical novels, poetry, plays and scripts," he was given the 2010 Brigham Young University Management Society's annual Distinguished Public Service Award in 2010.
According to a report on the Times' website, "Card said it is imperative that America return to a strong society, and urged people seated in the ballroom to become part of that return. He spoke of how America's strong society began to be dismantled in the 1960's and the once-good, once-strong culture seriously damaged."
I'm sorry, O. S. Card, but on those counts, you're totally full of shit.

HoloCartoons, an Iranian website critical of Zionism 08.20.2010
HoloCartoons is an Iranian website critical of Zionism launched on August 2010. [1]. The site, which opens to the Pink Panther theme song, aims to undermine the historic dimensions of the mass murder of Jews during World War II[2][3]. The site is based on a comic book written by Omid Mehdinejad and illustrated by Maziar Bijani[4]. The book's release was celebrated as part of Iran's Quds Day.
Reactions
On August 5, 2010, Yad Vashem, issued a statement calling the site "The latest salvo emanating from Iran that denies the facts of the Holocaust and attempts to influence those who are ignorant of history." [5]
After its publication, the site has been attacked by Jewish blogs worldwide as being blatantly anti-semitic due to its questioning of the holocaust. Nevertheless the site itself has responded to charges of antisemitism by mentioning in the first page that it respects people of all faiths killed in World War II, Jew, Muslim or Christian. The site itself has claimed to promote no hatred of the Jewish faith or people, and only questions the history of the holocaust and its basis on the creation of the state of Israel using cartoon satire.
---- from Wikipedia.
Basically, a piece of shit with misspellings and lousy grammar, written at a second-grade level for people with low mental capacity, with the intention of convincing them that lies can be truths if presented correctly. 54 pages of crap, and the "claim of no hatred" is a fraud which should be obvious to anyone who looks at the site. And I looked at all 54 pages... ... p.s., morons, there's an unlinked page between pages 53 and 54 and your spelling and grammar suck, too.
Looks like the ADL agrees...
ADL: new Iranian Holocaust denial web site is a "cesspool of anti-Semitism." The "HoloCartoon" web site purports to offer a historical narrative of events occurring before, during and after World War II. Instead, it is rife with anti-Semitic imagery, Jewish conspiracy theories, Holocaust denial and factual inaccuracies.
",one of the nation's most obsessed anti-gay crusaders, launched a boycott of The Home Depot a week ago today because the home improvement and construction retailer "promotes the homosexual agenda." Rather than "remain neutral in the culture war," AFA wrote, "The Home Depot has chosen to sponsor and participate in numerous gay pride parades and festivals."
That alone wouldn't be an earth-shaking accusation; plenty of major corporations, including Home Depot, sponsor gay pride events. But AFA's announcement strongly implies – with clever wording and misleading "evidence" – that the home-improvement retailer is helping gay sexual predators stalk children.
This isn't the first time AFA has tried to pin the "preys-on-children" tag on Home Depot.
Last summer, the AFA-affiliated One Million Moms group complained about the company's $5,000 sponsorship donation to the Nashville Gay Pride Festival, then added: "Home Depot also signed on as a vendor, conducting kids craft workshops for children via a special booth set up just for them. To this end, Home Depot is basically encouraging the attendance of children at events which openly expose them to transvestites, cross-dressers, and homosexual activities. … Obviously, Home Depot is OK with the idea of exposing children to an unhealthy and risky environment."
In other words, it's Home Depot's fault for accommodating kids who attend a public parade on public streets approved by local government.
Hateful and stupid at the same time. Rot in hell...

Subject: JIMMY CARTER---Alan M. Dershowitz
Ex-President For Sale by Alan M. Dershowitz
Carter is making more money selling integrity than peanuts.
I have known Jimmy Carter for more than 30 years. I first met him in the spring of 1976 when, as a relatively unknown candidate for president. He sent me a handwritten letter asking for my help in his campaign on issues of crime and justice. I had just published an article in The New York Times Magazine on sentencing reform, and he expressed interest in my ideas and asked me to come up with additional ones for his campaign.
Shortly thereafter, my former student Stuart Eisenstadt, brought Carter to Harvard to meet with some faculty members, me among them. I immediately liked Jimmy Carter and saw him as a man of integrity and principle. I signed on to his campaign and worked very hard for his election. When Newsweek magazine asked his campaign for the names of people on whom Carter relied for advice, my name was among those given out. I continued to work for Carter over the years, most recently I met him in Jerusalem a year ago, and we briefly discussed the Mid-East.
Though I disagreed with some of his points, I continued to believe that he was making them out of a deep commitment to principle and to human rights.
Recent disclosures of Carter's extensive financial connections to Arab oil money, particularly from Saudi Arabia, had deeply shaken my belief in his integrity. When I was first told that he received a monetary reward in the name of Shiekh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahayan, and kept the money, even after Harvard returned money from the same source because of its anti-Semitic history, I simply did not believe it. How could a man of such apparent integrity enrich himself with dirty money from so dirty a source?
And let there be no mistake about how dirty the Zayed Foundation is. I know because I was involved, in a small way, in helping to persuade Harvard University to return more than $2 million that the financially strapped Divinity School received from this source. Initially I was reluctant to put pressure on Harvard to turn back money for the Divinity School, but then a student at the Divinity School -- Rachael Lea Fish -- showed me the facts.
They were staggering. I was amazed that in the 21st century there were still foundations that espoused these views. The Zayed Centre for Coordination and Follow-up - a think-tank funded by the Shiekh and run by his son - hosted speakers who called Jews "the enemies of all nations," attributed the assassination of John Kennedy to Israel and the Mossad and the 9/11 attacks to the United States' own military, and stated that the Holocaust was a "fable." (They also hosted a speech by Jimmy Carter.) To its credit, Harvard turned the money back. To his discredit, Carter did not.
Jimmy Carter was, of course, aware of Harvard's decision, since it was highly publicized. Yet he kept the money. Indeed, this is what he said in accepting the funds: "This award has special significance for me because it is named for my personal friend, Sheik Zayed bin Sultan al-Nahyan." Carter's personal friend, it turns out, was an unredeemable anti-Semite and all-around bigot.
In reading Carter's statements, I was reminded of the bad old Harvard of the 1930s, which continued to honor Nazi academics after the anti-Semitic policies of Hitler's government became clear.
Harvard of the 1930s was complicit in evil. I sadly concluded that Jimmy Carter of the 21st century has become complicit in evil. The extent of Carter's financial support from, and even dependence on, dirty money is still not fully known. What we do know is deeply troubling.
Carter and his Center have accepted millions of dollars from suspect sources, beginning with the bail-out of the Carter family peanut business in the late 1970s by BCCI, a now-defunct and virulently anti-Israeli bank indirectly controlled by the Saudi Royal family, and among whose principal investors is Carter's friend, Sheikh Zayed.
Agha Hasan Abedi, the founder of the bank, gave Carter "$500,000 to help the former president establish his center...[and] more than $10 million to Mr. Carter's different projects." Carter gladly accepted the money, though Abedi had called his bank-ostensibly the source of his funding -"the best way to fight the evil influence of the Zionists."
BCC isn't the only source: Saudi King Fahd contributed millions to the Carter Center- "in 1993 alone...$7.6 million" as have other members of the Saudi Royal Family. Carter also received a million dollar pledge from the Saudi-based bin Laden family, as well as a personal $500,000 environmental award named for Sheikh Zayed, and paid for by the Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates.
It's worth noting that, despite the influx of Saudi money funding the Carter Center, and despite the Saudi Arabian government's myriad human rights abuses, the Carter Center's Human Rights program has no activity whatever in Saudi Arabia.
The Saudis have apparently bought his silence for a steep price. The bought quality of the Center's activities becomes even more clear, however, when reviewing the Center's human rights activities in other countries: essentially no human rights activities in China or in North Korea, or in Iran, Iraq, the Sudan, or Syria, but activity regarding Israel and its alleged abuses, according to the Center's website.
The Carter Center's mission statement claims that "The Center is nonpartisan and acts as a neutral party in dispute resolution activities." How can that be, given that its coffers are full of Arab money, and that its focus is away from significant Arab abuses and on Israel's far less serious ones?
No reasonable person can dispute therefore that Jimmy Carter has been and remains dependent on Arab oil money, particularly from Saudi Arabia.
Does this mean that Carter has necessarily been influenced in his thinking about the Middle East by receipt of such enormous amounts of money? Ask Carter. The entire premise of his criticism of Jewish influence on American foreign policy is that money talks.
It is Carter-not me-who has made the point that if politicians receive money from Jewish sources, then they are not free to decide issues regarding the Middle East for themselves. It is Carter, not me, who has argued that distinguished reporters cannot honestly report on the Middle East because they are being paid by Jewish money.
So, by Carter's own standards, it would be almost economically "suicidal" for Carter "to espouse a balanced position between Israel and Palestine."
By Carter's own standards, therefore, his views on the Middle East must be discounted. It is certainly possible that he now believes them. Money, particularly large amounts of money, has a way of persuading people to a particular position. It would not surprise me if Carter, having received so much Arab money, is now honestly committed to their cause. But his failure to disclose the extent of his financial dependence on Arab money, and the absence of any self reflection on whether the receipt of this money has unduly influenced his views, is a form of deception bordering on corruption.
I have met cigarette lobbyists, who are supported by the cigarette industry, and who have come to believe honestly that cigarettes are merely a safe form of adult recreation, that cigarettes are not addicting and that the cigarette industry is really trying to persuade children not to smoke. These people are fooling themselves (or fooling us into believing that they are fooling themselves) just as Jimmy Carter is fooling himself (or persuading us to believe that he is fooling himself).
If money determines political and public views-as Carter insists "Jewish money" does-then Carter's views on the Middle East must be deemed to have been influenced by the vast sums of Arab money he has received. If he who pays the piper calls the tune, then Carter's off-key tunes have been called by his Saudi Arabian paymasters. It pains me to say this, but I now believe that there is no person in American public life today who has a lower ratio of real [integrity] to apparent integrity than Jimmy Carter. The public perception of his integrity is extraordinarily high. His real integrity, it now turns out, is extraordinarily low.
He is no better than so many former American politicians who, after leaving public life, sell themselves to the highest bidder and become lobbyists for despicable causes.
That is now Jimmy Carter's sad legacy.
