The Truth About Flirting

Why don't they teach flirting to everyone?

It's easy. That's the Truth.

Afraid to flirt? So was I. Could I look a woman in the eye and not pass out?

Yeah, we're normal, that way. Relax...

I took a class in flirting, once. One was all I needed.
Here's how to start: You're in a room with a lot of people.

Yeah, could be a bar [ugh], a convention, subway car, theater line...

You see someone whom you find attractive.

You look at them, then look away, shy.

Here's the deal: next time you look at them, if they happen to look at you, hold their gaze for 2-3 seconds.....One-Mississippi, two-Mississippi, three-Mississippi.

Just for those two or three seconds, see who lasts longer.

Most of the time, the other person will look away in a lot less than three seconds.

Maybe they're shy, or maybe they don't think you're their "type," whatever that means.   Keep looking.

Eventually, someone you glance at for more than two seconds will hold your gaze that long, too Bingo! You've just flirted successfully!

At this point, you're going to shift into "contact" mode: it's time to wind your way through the crowd, gear up your courage, and say hello to them. That can be the subject of another page, here....

My favorite flirt line.

I taught this one to my stepson during a period of his life when he was not being successful finding women to date.

Now, he's married with one kid [so far.]

You're in a restaurant. [or anywhere, actually...]

You spot someone attractive, and would like to find out if they have any kind of reasonable personality.

You catch their eye, go over to them, or wave them to come over to you.

"May I ask you a personal question?" you ask.

Most of the time, they'll agree, assuming they don't have to answer any question they don't want to.

[example for men talking to women:]
"I noticed you over there, and I could not guess how old you are.

Normally, I'm pretty good at that, but with you, I was confused.

I first thought you were [X-number of years younger than you really think they are] years old, but you seemed to have the poise and experience of somone [Y-years older than you think they really are] years old.

May I ask how old you really are?

That should help you find out if they have a pleasant personality. You're on your own after that, for now....

And here's one I discovered today, 06.11.2009..... The Computer Repair Shop..... Watch This!

If you have suggestions or experiences to share, send them to me and I'll edit them and put them on this page.

Remember, some of you used to be shy...
