Farewell, Larry Sanford Back to Memorial Page

With heartfelt thanks to Ginny Pyle for the following...

Larry Dean Sanford, Sr. -- 04.26.1943 - 04.23.2009

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Larry Sanford on April 23, 2009.

He is survived by Priscilla, his loving wife of 44 years, sons Larry (Holly), Manuel (Wendy), and daughter Stacie (Craig). He was an adoring grandfather to his 10 grandchildren, Kristina, Kevin, Kyle, Maxwell, Benjamin, Johnathan, Alona, Jeffrey, Justin and Brandon.

Born on March 26, 1943, in Baxter Springs, Kansas, Larry was the youngest of 12 children. He grew up in Santa Clara, California, and attended Sunnyvale High School and Foothill College. He met Priscilla in 1961 and they married on April 24, 1965..

Larry retired after 37 years as a program manager for Hewlett Packard.

Larry was a devoted husband and father, unselfishly caring for his wife through her years of illness. Family and friends will always remember his optimistic attitude and willingness to help all. His grandchildren brought him the greatest of joy, as he loved nothing more than to watch them play sports and spend time with them...

Through the years with his three children, he was an avid photographer for their school and sports activities. Planting his beautiful spring flowers each year was one of his favorite activities. His hobbies included bowling, camping, playing cards, fishing with family and friends, and most recently he became a bingo enthusiast.

He will be missed by his longtime friends of the Cervantes Trailer Club and the Hayward RV club of which he was a member.

He was actively involved in the Sociedad Cervantes Espanola, where he held positions as President and Vice President over the years.
