Farewell, Bill Fallon Back to Memorial Page

Bill Fallon
June, 1920 - February 21, 2009

With heartfelt thanks to Ginny Pyle and John McGowan, this note, sent to me Friday, February 27, 2009.

Bill Fallon passed away Saturday night in Palo Alto from complications around Leukemia at age 87.

Bill was one of the legendary characters of HP, having joined in the 1960s after retiring as a Commander in the US Navy.

He was a proud alumnus of Notre Dame, and excelled in his second career at HP handling contracts, both government and commercial for AMD, DSD and AMSO before retiring in 1992.

He brought humor and style to work every day, along with a love for his fellow employees and the company he worked for.

He was dedicated to teaching his co-workers the values of a good negotiation and a good contract, and loved working with customers as well as his fellow employees.

He was equally passionate about his community in Los Altos , and remained active in community activities long after he retired from HP.

Bill is survived by his four sons, Billy, Denny, Kevin and Brennan, and daughter Jennifer. The family plans no memorial service at this time.

Bill Fallon was one of the most outgoing, friendliest, helpful people I met when I transferred to Data Systems Division of HP in 1983, and I am one of many who will miss him greatly.
